Why did I start?

I have always been active. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to play sports, run around, or just be outside...except in the winter...I HATE snow! I played organized sports through college and even tried an adult women's basketball league at one point. I just liked to move. I don't, however, just like going to the gym. Even though my education/profession is in the fitness field, going to the gym was such a task. It took forever for me to get going and get there, and waiting for the equipment I needed, forget it...I'm not really a patient person.
Going to the gym didn't work for me. I needed to find something that did. Fast forward a few years and a few kids later, and I really had no time to do any sort of physical activity except for maybe running up and down the soccer field yelling at the four year old, "Noooo!!! The other way....we are going the other way!!!" One day, I saw a friend of mine posting something about a fitness challenge and I was like maybe this is what I need? Well it was! All the exercises were done right in my living room. No excuses. No BS. Just get it done.

My pregnancies were rough, when it came to weight gain. I am very thankful for my three healthy baby girls, but I gained 75 lbs three times and my body did not appreciate this. It didn't matter what I ate. With my first pregnancy, I tried, maybe not that hard, but I tried. I ate lots of vegetables and salads, but also indulged in ice cream. My second pregnancy, I didn't care. I was sick for the majority of the pregnancy and I was in survival mode. I ate whatever made me feel better. With my third pregnancy, my eating patterns were also all over the place but I felt more in control.
My nutrition, after my pregnancies, was immediately decided for me. Each one of my girls had a milk/soy protein intolerance so as a nursing mom I eliminated milk and soy from my diet. After about a year I lost all the baby weight. This helped me realize that nutrition is the most important part when it comes to maintaining, gaining, or losing weight.

In May of 2015, I decided to give these home workouts a try because I knew I was done having children and if I didn't start taking care of myself then I never would. Time was still an issue so I knew working out at home was the best option for me. After a few months of working out, I ended up getting an umbilical hernia. This halted my workouts. I did not give up!! In April of 2016, I started a 21 day program that forever changed my life. In November of 2017, I decided I wanted to help others on their journey! Since the first time I pressed play, I have completed 18 different programs and counting! I am 100% still on my journey. I am constantly forgetting how important nutrition is....sometimes I restrict too much and sometimes I can't stop eating...I am still finding the balance. I love my fitness community and the life long friends I have made so far along this journey and I can't wait to meet my future friends waiting to join us.
